There are Grant Funding Options

Canada Alberta Job Grant

Eligible Candidates & Info:

• Canadian citizen or permanent resident

• A Business Owner that has fewer than 4 employees (including all owners)

• Family members of the applicant company that have been employed by them for more than 3 months

• Protected people under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) who are entitled to work in Canada

1. Fully Funded

• Up to $15,000/person if hiring and training an unemployed Albertan

2. Partially Funded

• Up to 2/3 covered/employee to a maximum of $10,000/employee/fiscal year & up to $300,000/employer

Up to $300,000/ individual employer/fiscal year

*Recommend applying 30 days in advance. Courses must start within 6 months


Driving Back to Work Grant

Eligible Candidates:

• Must be 18+, unemployed or under-employed (working less than 29 hours a week on average per year)

• Resident of Alberta with a NON-GDL Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence

• Canadian citizen with sufficient English to succeed in training and exam

• Pass an Alberta driver’s medical exam

DBTWG Covers:

• Class 1 or E&E MELT

• Air Brakes
